I just received my new Tsunami board yesterday and (successfully) installed all libraries as described on the web site up to the section related to drivers. However, when I plug the device it stays on for about 10 seconds only. During this time there is a blinking led on the board. Afterwards the led turns off and I the board shuts down by itself as well. Thus I cannot install the driver the way it is described on the web site.
My computer is Win 10. I tried it on Win 7, same issue. In Win XP I was able to install the driver by clicking rapidly on "update driver" in that short 10 sec interval but the board still does the same...
Do I miss something?
It sounds like you're talking about the period the board is in bootloader mode. You should still be able to install the drivers when it's not in bootloader mode simply by following the instructions in the guide. If necessary for whatever reason, pushing the reset button will put the Tsunami back into bootloader mode for another 10 seconds.
After it exits the bootloader, the serial port may disappear if the sketch loaded does not include USB support. Have you loaded anything onto the Tsunami yet?
No, I did not load anything yet. The port for the board does not show up in Arduino software. It shows up in device manager though but only for 10 s after I press the reset button. After the 10 s it disappears from the list.
I was able to install the drivers in win xp but the board does the same.
I will try again with Linux and let you know.
Apparently everything is fine with the board. I was able to install again the drivers in windows XP and now the board is stable. I loaded some examples and they seem to work. I did not check the output with an oscilloscope yet but I suppose this will be ok as well.
Now since the board is okay, I know that for my other Win 7 laptop I will have to work a little bit harder on the drivers....
Thank you very much.
